Today I am thankful for my brother, his wife and their kiddos.
My brother is five years older than me so you can imagine how fun things were when we were younger. For a while I'm sure he enjoyed being a big brother. However, I don't think it took him long to figure out that having his little sister around all the time was not cool.
I remember many fights with my brother, mostly piddly things however a couple of them stand out to this day. My brother played tennis in high school and always practiced hitting the ball against the wall in the basement. Me being the brat that I was, would always go down and pester him. One night he thought it was a good idea to hit the ball AT ME. Yep...hit me in the face. I was none too happy but I guess I deserved it because I don't recall my parents getting mad at him. The other fight was at supper and he told me to get up and get him a drink. I went to the garage and shook that can of soda with everything I had. I brought it back in to him and with a smile on my face, I watched it explode on him. He then ran after me and dumped the rest of it on my head.
I am also thankful for his wife Rhonda, her son Brayden and their beautiful little girl, Jada. My brother has been through some crazy times. However, because of them, I can see how happy he is now and that means a lot to me. I may be the little sister, but I love him and feel the need to look out for him too.
